Abstract

|
|
Intrinsic pancreatic involvement is extremely rare in Hodgkin's lymphoma, although occasionally present in Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (1% at staging laparatomy). The incidence of pancreatic involvement is increased in histiocytic lymphoma(30-35%) and American Burkitt's lymphoma. The usual gross appearance is multifocal mass. Diffuse enlargement is not uncommon and maybe due to diffuse involvement of tumor, tumor-induced pancreatitis, or pancreatitis associated with tumor lysis from chemotherapy. Radiologic features favoring lymphoma rather than carcinoma include large size, multifocality, massive or widespread adenopathy, and one or more solid massed on CT that are homogeneous and very hypoechoic on US.
